Villa Resorts has announced the appointment of Faiz Idrees as Executive Chef at Royal Island, reinforcing the resort’s culinary leadership and enhancing its dining experience.
A Maldivian national with extensive experience in the hospitality sector, Chef Faiz joins Royal Island following his tenure overseeing multi-outlet operations across renowned island resorts and international establishments. His expertise spans menu development, kitchen brigade leadership, food cost management, and the implementation of HACCP standards. His achievements have been recognised with several industry honours, including Executive Chef of the Year by the Chefs Guild of Maldives and the NSURE Food Safety Leadership Award.
In his new role at Royal Island, Chef Faiz will lead all culinary operations across restaurants, bars, and private dining experiences. He aims to elevate both Maldivian and international menus through a seasonal, technique-driven approach, while continuing to uphold the resort’s commitment to food safety and professional training within its kitchen teams.
