Mirihi Island Resort has announced that all its staff members will still be employed without any discrepancies to their monthly wages till June of 2020 amidst pandemic.

The decision to keep staff employed without any salary deductions was proposed considering the difficult situation faced by the employees, says Mirihi Island Resort General Manager Mohamed Shareef.

He further said that the resort appreciates the governments effort to initiate relief funds and looks forward to continuing services with the lift of travel ban estimated to take place in July. A total of 158 employees currently works with the island resort.

Mirihi Island Resort is located in the South Ari Atoll, reachable from Male on a 30-minute picturesque seaplane flight. Due to its size and limited number of Villas, Mirihi is considered as being one of the smallest islands in the Maldives. Combining modern and traditional elements, the small paradise has been freshly renovated and reopened in December 2014 with a new shine, but still maintaining its unique Maldivian character.
