Maldivian Chefs Wins at Pakistan International Culinary Championship

The team of Maldivian chefs have returned home from the Pakistan International Culinary Championship (Season 6) with remarkable wins. The Pakistan International Culinary Championship (Season 6), held from February 13 - 15, 2024 in Lahore, was organized by the Chefs Association of Pakistan. This competition celebrates the art of culinary excellence, and facilitates the exchange of work experiences and enhancement of skills.

The team of Maldivian chefs, comprised of Chefs Ismail Thahseen, Ajwad Abdul Wahhab, Aishath Rashfa Ahmed and Mariyam Shafana, showcased exceptional talent in the competition. WorldChefs certified continental judges from the Maldives, Chef Fathimath Umar (team manager and coach) and Chef Mohamed Abdulla, and Rookie judge Shihama Shafeeu were also part of the local contingent.

Winners at the Pakistan International Culinary Championship include:

• Chef Ismail Thahseen

o Gold Medal – Beef live cooking

o Gold Medal – Chicken live cooking

o Silver Medal – Seafood live cooking

• Chef Ajwad Abdul Wahhab

o Gold Medal – Beef live cooking

o Gold Medal – Seafood live cooking

o Silver Medal – Chicken live cooking

• Chef Aishath Rashfa Ahmed

o Silver Medal – Beef live cooking

• Chef Mariyam Shafana

o Silver Medal – Dress The Cake

Additionally, Chefs Ismail Thahseen, Ajwad Abdul Wahhab, and Aishath Rashfa Ahmed contested in the team challenge to prepare a four-course gourmet menu, and won Gold Medal with the highest marks.
