Indian Medical Team arrives in Maldives to assist in Covid 19 Global Pandemic

The Indian team of doctors, paramedics, specialists and technicians have arrived in the Maldives with the support of Indian Government. 

The team will be working with Maldivian health specialists in combating the global challenge #COVID19.

Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi mentioned that he would like to propose that the leadership of SAARC nations chalk out a strong strategy to fight Coronavirus. 

Where he proposed the leaders could discuss, via video conferencing, ways to keep citizens healthy. 

He also added that, Together, SAARC countries can set an example to the world, and contribute to a healthier planet.

Maldivian President HE Ibrahim Mohamed Solih thanked Prime Minister for taking the initiative on this important endeavor, and mentioned Covid 19 requires collective effort to defeat it. President Solih on behalf of the Maldivians welcomed the proposal and fully supported the initiative of a regional effort.

While , Maldivian Foreign Minister Hon Abdulla Shahid highlighted the initiative and thanked Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr.Jaishankar for this timely assistance.
