Maldives has enabled eSIM services in the Maldives, for the very first time.
eSIM services was launched in the
Maldives today at a special event held by Ooredoo Maldives at Dharubaaruge
today, by the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Ali Waheed and the Managing Director
& Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, Najib Khan.
Ooredoo eSim connects customers
to the next generation of SIMs and is available for prepaid, postpaid and
tourist plan customers with a compatible phone, including iPhone XS, iPhone XS
Max, iPhone XR and Google Pixel 3. The electronic SIM card replaces the
currently available plastic SIM card on smartphones, with a virtually embedded
equivalent. The digital eSIM enables customers to integrate up to nine
different numbers on a single device, allowing seamless switching between
personal and business numbers.
