National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has started to spread awareness to the boating industry to be registered at the Ministry of Tourism if they are providing Scuba Diving Service to the guests.

All Scuba Diving Service facilities are compulsory to be registered at the Ministry of Tourism based on the regulation of 25th February 2003 available on the ministrys website www.tourism.gov.mv

As part of Stay Safe Afloat Campaign, we do various activities each year, hence we have started this campaign by approaching the industry and request all members to follow the regulations as a safety measure. Said Ismail Hameed, Vice President of National Boating Association of Maldives.

He added that NBAM also encourages all in the industry to abide by the rules and most importantly be insured while providing the service, as preventions are always better than going through hassles.

NBAM requests industry members to email (info@boating.mv) if they require any assistance or information on the procedures.

NBAM has been the Marine Indusrys key voice since the organization began in June 2007.  While NBAM holds an annual Exhibition namely "Maldives Marine Expo" and "Maldives Boating Awards" to encourage and recognize the services of the industry.
