As travelers are gearing up for their most-awaited summer vacation, Qatar Airways has announced an additional flight operation to the tropical island destination from July 1, 2021 onwards.

With this fourth daily service to the Maldives, the airline promises to fly guests in style to their dream destination. Qatar Airways operates one of the youngest, most fuel-efficient fleets in the sky, and is committed to delivering a sustainable and environmentally-responsible travel experience for its customers.

Due to COVID-19’s impact on travel demand, the airline has grounded its fleet of Airbus A380s as it is not environmentally justifiable to operate such a large, four-engine aircraft in the current market.

Maldives reopened its borders for tourists of all nationalities on 15 July 2020, with rigorous procedures in place to ensure the safety of tourists and tourism workers. Tourists who have not received the final dose of the vaccine at least 14 days prior to arrival are required to fill an online health declaration form within 24 hours prior to their departure as well as presenting a negative PCR Test result not more than 96 hours prior to travel.

Fully vaccinated visitors 14 days prior to arrival in Maldives had been able to enter the destination without a negative PCR test. However, due the rise in COVID-19 cases, tourists originating from South Asian countries are temporarily restricted to enter Maldives, as a precautionary measure of COVID-19 while all inbound travelers from other countries/regions are currently obliged to hold a PCR negative result with a sample taken 96 hours prior to their departure, even if vaccinated.
