Amilla Maldives Resort & Residences is located in the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, just 30 minutes by seaplane from Male or 10 minutes by speedboat from Dharavandhoo Airport.

With 23.5 hectares of lush tropical paradise to explore, the Maldivian-owned Amilla Maldives is one of the largest and most spacious resorts in the Maldives. Home to just 67 villas and residences, all 70% of the island is untouched with tropical rainforest, mature coconut trees, exotic blooms and secret beaches to explore.

Featuring some of the largest villas and residences in the Maldives (from 220 m2 upwards), there are 8 categories of accommodation ranging from Overwater Villas, Beach Villas, Lagoon Villas and the unique Treetop Villas to Private Residences with 4, 6 and 8 bedrooms. All Villas and Residences boast their own private pool, sun loungers, outdoor rain shower and generous outdoor space complete with al fresco dining areas. Inside, all accommodation categories feature a 7-foot king-sized bed, air conditioning, satellite tv, Bose surround sound systems Wifi, a coffee machine and an in-villa wine cellar.

The large Private Residences which accommodate from 8 to 20 guests are situated on the beachfront in their own private area of the island with huge tropical courtyard gardens. Perfect for groups of family and friends, these spacious sanctuaries offer luxurious beach-house sophistication and enjoy unparalleled views across the ocean. Each two-storey Residence features a large pool (or two), multiple dining areas, generous recreation areas and a fully equipped kitchen. All Residences also come with their own private butler and buggy transport.

Due to its fantastic location within the heart of the Baa Atoll UNESCO World Biosphere Resort, Amilla Maldives has its own house reef teaming with a remarkable array of fish and aquatic creatures. The warm and shallow waters are perfect for diving and snorkelling all year round – discover bottlenose and spinner dolphins, turtles, manta rays, whale sharks, small reef sharks and a shoals of vibrant fish right on its shores. Just a 20-minute boat ride away, you will find Hanifaru Bay, a world-renowned site where mantas and whale sharks congregate in unprecedented numbers from June to October every year.

Amilla Maldives also offers a whole host of other watersports such as kayaking, SUP, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, jet skiing and banana boat rides.

Relax and be pampered with a choice of holistic treatments in your very own pod at the Javvu Spa, indulge in the yoga and wellness classes or choose from the indoor or outdoor gym. The resort also features Amilla Glamping on the beach where you can fully immerse yourself in nature in the climate-controlled bedroom under the stars.

There are seven restaurants on the island, a café, a wine cellar and two bars. The restaurants include Feeling Koi, a Japanese fusion restaurant, the Barolo Grill featuring Italian cuisine, Joe’s Pizza and Asian Wok. Amilla Maldives caters for all dietary requirements including Vegan, Paleo and Keto with the freshest garden to table ingredients, many of which are homegrown on the island.

With a focus on sustainability and wellness, recent projects at Amilla include an Eco Centre where coconut oil is made for cooking and Spa products, a new farm area where organic, seasonal produce is grown for the resort’s restaurants, the ‘Cluckingham Palace’ chicken residence which supplies fresh eggs and a new glass crusher to recycle glass waste into glass bricks for construction projects.

Amilla Maldives believes that Post COVID-19, hospitality will look very different, so they have devised a comprehensive strategy to embrace ‘the new normal’. Since they are a small company, their advantage is that they can adapt quicker than larger brands to meet the new priorities guests will have when selecting a resort, as well as their new expectations during their stay. The spacious size of their island and low room density is an advantage for social distancing goals – there is plenty of space for everyone! Amilla are building an experience that inspires confidence – from their marketing to their booking process, right through to daily operations.  We realise that new priorities will include more consciousness about building/maintaining immunity through food and wellness practices that will help our guests to fully relax. They will also be meeting the anticipated increase in demand for anti-inflammatory foods, pure and natural ingredients and Homemade/Homegrown@Amilla produce. Amilla has committed to more investment in cleanliness, hygiene training and certification, reducing restaurant capacity and increasing spaces between tables and deeper and more regular cleaning of villas.
