The new Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, which opened in
the Baa Atoll in 2018, is delighted to announce the appointment of
Director of Wellness, Dr. Anand Kumar.
Dr. Anand Kumar will be responsible for all aspects of the
resorts comprehensive well being offering, from spa and fitness to wellness
workshops and nutrition. This recent appointment highlights the brands
overarching philosophy of wellness and its commitment to the health and well being of its guests.
A bachelor of naturopathy and yogic sciences, he brings with him a wealth of experience in spa management, well being, natural healing and yoga.
He has worked for Marriott for the past five years, heading
up luxury spas at the JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity and, most recently,
Marriott Al Jaddaf in Dubai. Prior to that, Dr. Anand Kumar oversaw the opening of
Vana Wellness Retreat in India in 2013 and held Spa Manager roles at Hyatt
Regency Chennai, Goa Marriott Resort and the Jiva Spa at the Taj Rambagh
Palace.

In his role of Director of Wellness at The Westin Maldives
Miriandhoo Resort, Dr. Anand Kumar will strive to deliver the regions most
comprehensive wellness offering for guests. Heading up the Heavenly Spa by
Westin and the 24-hour Westin WORKOUT fitness center, Dr. Anand Kumar will implement
an inclusive program spanning the many facets of physical and mental well being from massage therapies, natural healing, holistic health, yoga,
meditation and nutrition. Dr. Anand Kumar and his team are committed to offering a
