BML Islamic scales up its support to growing Customer Base

Bank of Maldives has scaled up its Islamic Banking arm with the opening of its new headquarters at H. Zoneyria, Boduthakurufaanu Magu. The modern, new headquarters solely dedicated to Islamic Banking services provides the opportunity to better serve BML Islamics growing customer base. The new premises was inaugurated by the Minister of Finance, Ibrahim Ameer, at a ceremony tonight.

The new headquarters will provide counter services for transactions with a range of financial services for both individuals and businesses. The Customer Advice Centre at the facility will provide professional advice on Shariah compliant financial solutions for both personal and business requirements. The headquarters also has a 24-hour self-service ATM centre which can facilitate both withdrawals and deposits. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, BMLs CEO and Managing Director, Tim Sawyer said, "With the largest Islamic banking network in the country, this is an exciting and progressive development for us that allows us to address the banking needs of our customers better than before." 

BML Islamic is fully Shariah-compliant, and offers a full-range of Shariah compliant alternatives to all of its conventional products. Our services have been developed according to international standards and best practices for Islamic Banking. Customer deposits are maintained in a separate fund that is utilized exclusively for Shariah-compliant purposes. This process is overseen by the Banks Shariah Advisory Committee, which includes internationally recognized experts.
