Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2024 is now open for registrations!

At a special press conference held at Dhiraagu Head Office today, Dhiraagu announced that registrations are now open for the 5K, 10K and Half Marathon categories of DMRR 2024, along with the brand-new Office/Resort category. Interested participants can now get more information and register via www.dmrr.mv

Every year, DMRR awards attractive cash prizes for winners of different categories. Similarly, this year, Dhiraagu will be awarding a total prize pool of MVR 256,000 amongst the winners as well.

This year marks the 15th edition of this largest and most anticipated run in the Maldives, scheduled to be held on October  25, 2024 (Friday) at Central Park, Hulhumale’.

“Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is the largest running event held in the Maldives, focused towards promoting a healthy lifestyle and building a culture of competitive running and mass participation runs. This year, as we mark the 15th edition of DMRR, we are proud to introduce yet another new component to the event; the Office/Resort category. With this new category, our aim is to give people working at different resorts and offices the opportunity to participate as a team and represent their organisation at a competitive level,” stated Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Director, Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu.

DMRR is the first and only international run held in the Maldives, listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar with a World Athletics-certified race route. The event brings together runners from all over the world with participants from 27 countries running last year as well.

Similar to previous years, DMRR 2024 is dedicated towards the social cause of child protection, one of the key focus areas of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility programme. The run will provide a platform for NGOs working in the area of child protection to raise awareness and funds for their cause.

Dhiraagu will award five grants of total MVR 200,000 amongst the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants at the time of registration to help kick-start their planned activities. In addition to this, Dhiraagu will be donating MVR 100 from each participant registration and all proceeds from special bib number sales in equal shares to the endorsed partner NGOs. Last year, Dhiraagu awarded total MVR 635,000 amongst all the endorsed partner NGOs of DMRR.

Registrations for DMRR 2024 are now open and will be closed once the limit of 4,000 participants is reached.
