Adaaran Hosts Supervisory and Leadership Training Programme

Adaaran Resorts, part of the Sri Lankan Aitken Spence Hotel Management portfolio, conducted a special training program promoting supervisor level competencies within the Maldivian hotel staff, as part of the learning and development enhancement agenda. 

As a hospitality chain with years of expertise in the market, improving the knowledge of its employees has become a key objective for the Group, as an essential step towards greater guest satisfaction.

Supervisory and Leadership Training (SALT) program was carefully designed to develop not only product and service knowledge but also the interpersonal skills of the employees, in an interactive and creative environment. 

The six-month Programme consisted of five-modules and was conducted by the Corporate Learning and Development department of Adaaran Resorts. The programme included 65 hours of training, broken down to 35 hours on theory, five hours of visual learning, five hours of assessments and 20 hours of gamification learning. As per Adaaran's succession plan candidates who complete all models will have the opportunity to continue their career with Adaaran working in supervisory positions.

Industry-leading training and development have been an integral part of the Addaran resort chain, having been recognised for operating a hotel school in 2010 to educate and train young Maldivians. Some of the other recognised programmes include The Adaaran Executive Development programme, Apprentice programmes in Front office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and the Adaaran Cross Exposure programme to name a few.

Adaaran Resorts is part of the Aitken Spence Hotels, a subsidiary of a Sri Lankan blue-chip conglomerate, Aitken Spence PLC. The Aitken Spence Hotels portfolio consists of 21 hotels, with 11 hotels in Sri Lanka, one in India, four in the Maldives and four in Oman. Adaaran Resorts, which commenced its operations in the Maldives in 1993 has an inventory of 620 rooms with a new property under its successful Sri Lankan brand Heritance in the pipeline.
