MALDIVIAN: National carrier returns with 7.4 tonnes of cargo from Dubai

Maldivians cargo flight landed last night at Velana International Airport at around 2225hrs with 6700 kilograms of cargo from Dubai.

The 7.4 tonnes of cargo delivered from Dubai mainly consisted of perishable goods.  

Maldivian commenced cargo flights with its passenger flights to various cities across the world including Trivandrum and Chennai of India, Thailand and Dubai with additional destinations to be added to provide assistance in transporting essential supplies and goods during this global pandemic, based on demand.

Maldivian cargo freighter has previously brought in 11323.3 kg of supplies from Bangkok, Thailand while prior to that, the airline had delivered 10 tonnes of cargo from Sri Lanka.

Maldivian is the flag carrier of the country and the leading domestic carrier in the Maldives. Maldivian currently operates flights to 15 airports, which include international airports; Velana International Airport, Hanimaadhoo International Airport, Gan International Airport, Villa International Airport, Maafaru International Airport, and domestic airports; Baa Dharavandhoo, Raa Ifuru, Thaa Thimarafushi, Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo, Gaaf Alif Kooddoo, Gaaf Dhaal Kaadedhoo, Laamu Kadhdhoo, Haa Dhaal Kulhudhuhfushi, Gnyaviyani Fuvahmulah, and Shaviyani Funadhoo Airport.
