Today, the Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI) commemorates its 24th Anniversary, highlighting more than twenty years of committed service as the leading voice for the country's building and construction industry. Established on October 30, 2001, by seven founding members, MNACI has been essential in maintaining company interests and stakeholders throughout its tenure.
Leadership and Purpose
The association is presently headed by President Mr. Mohamed Ali Janah, aided by Vice-Presidents Mr. Abdullah Mohamed and Mr. Alau Ali. MNACI acts as an essential center for a varied membership, comprising large, medium, and small contractors, construction firms, real estate developers, and important service providers such as vendors and logistics representatives.
MNACI's primary mission has two main objectives: to advance the industrial, contractual, and technical requirements of its members and, importantly, to promote the overall growth, standing, and quality of the Maldivian construction center to globally recognized stanards. 
This includes significant advocacy and awareness initiatives aimed at government agencies
Tactical Accomplishments and Support
MNACI demonstrates its dedication toindustry growth through various initiatives, such as essential services, professional training sessions, and capacity-building workshops. In the last 12 years, the association has effectively positioned itself as the leading advocate for construction-related issues, greatly impacting national policy.
Important advocacy accomplishments consist of:
• Policy Impact: Effective lobbying activities have shaped governmental policies, resulting in
suggestions for essential stability actions like implementing a price variation clause in government agreements and the establishment of a Construction Cost Index. MNACI persists in
advocate for the expansion of these initiatives to encompass private sector projects.
• National and International Representation: MNACI has attained representation in essential
government policy-making organizations, such as the Construction Industry Development Board.
