Raffles Maldives Meradhoo will be inviting free-diver Bastien Soleil to offer a 2-day course and certification for free-diving from March 18 to April 17, 2020.

The free-diver course is designed for those with little to no experience in the ocean and for those who have never experienced formal education in freediving although have some underwater experience.

This course will enable guests to feel safe and comfortable when freediving to the depths of up to 20 meters and to improve current skills, even to double your potential. Although this might sound difficult to achieve in a few days, you will be surprised what an experienced Freediving instructor can do for you. The unique breathing techniques, together with the effective structure of the course program in the classroom and water sessions creates a fun educative environment and a successful freediving experience.

The free-diver course runs for 2 days and is divided into two classroom sessions and two water sessions. During the classroom session, Bastien will interact with students using videos, questions and different exercises which will help to improve confidence, knowledge and techniques prior to the afternoons water session.

As a successful designer, marketeer and communications expert, Bastien escaped the hectic city life of his native France to travel extensively in Asia in search of a simpler life. Along the way, 5 years ago, he found freediving, which proved to be a transformative experience. Now he uses his old skills to develop his new love: bringing people together, creating collaborations between likeminded spirits and trying to change our attitude towards the environment.

Bastien Soliel is a professional freediving instructor (Apnea Total / AIDA / Padi) and a professional underwater photographer. He became a professional free-diver and underwater photographer with more than 1000 dives per year and taught freediving to hundreds of peoples from all around the world from 12 to 70 years

During the course, Bastien will take in maximum 3 students; allowing for greater personalized attention. Bastien will be with the student at all times while underwater regardless of depth.

The only requirement to get certified as a free-diver is to perform a rescue exercise from a depth of 6 meters during the second day.

Bookings will be available through the Reservations center.
