Air Seychelles has begun operating passenger services from Johannesburg to Maldives, just in time for the festive season.

The weekly flights, scheduled from December 2020 until January 2021, will provide travelers the opportunity to enjoy this festive season, as both Seychelles and Maldives are open for international travelers.

The Air Seychelles aircraft will make an intermediate stop briefly in Seychelles before moving on to Velana International Airport in Maldives. The return flight will allow for a full 7-day holiday in Maldives. Beach-lovers can also enjoy the extra stopover time in Seychelles on their return flight back home.

There is no quarantine on arrival for guests but they are required to fill an online health declaration form within 24 hours prior to departure and submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, conducted maximum 96 hours prior to departure to Maldives.

Maldives has also introduced the first COVID-19 travel insurance in the country, Allied Inbound, which covers medical charges, isolation facility charges, emergency medical transportation charges and interment charges following a positive diagnosis for COVID-19 during their stay in the country.
