The Tekkers Greater Male Cup (TGMC) has reached its thrilling conclusion, with Gaafaru Futsal Team emerging victorious in a hard-fought battle for the championship trophy. The Grand Finale, held on yesterday between BG Sports Club and Gaafaru Futsal Team, marked the pinnacle of this 20 day-long Futsal Tournament.

In a nail-biting match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, Gaafaru Futsal Team showcased exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament going through the group stages as one of the two teams of group C which consisted of some tough opponents including the runners-up they had faced in the grand finale BG Sports Club. Ultimately securing the champion trophy and the esteemed prize money of MVR 35,000. Tekkers, demonstrated its commitment to the tournament by transferring the prize money on the spot, adding an extra layer of excitement to the victory celebration.

The award ceremony, a grand culmination to the tournament, unfolded immediately after the Grand Finale. The Chief guest of the ceremony was the minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal along with special guests Ali Ibrahim (Kappi) - PPM/PNC candidate for Henveiru Hulhangu Dhaairah and Ibrahim Sanah (Santo)- PPM/PNC candidate for Thimarafushi Dhaaira.  The agenda was filled with accolades and recognition for the outstanding performers throughout the Tekkers Greater Male Cup:

The ceremony started with an award for the referees in the grand finale, Zaeem Ali, Niushaadh Mohamed and Ali Faaiz awards given by Given By Mohamed Nashmee - Managing Director, Tekkers.

The ceremony progressed on to the Grand Finale Man of the Match award given to Ali Maais - (J#10 - Gaafaru FT) Given by Mohamed Nashmee - Managing Director, Tekkers.

The FairPlay Team was given to Fasthari SC who progress all the way to the Quarter finals of the tournament and got Knockout all without receiving a single card shown against them given by Yoosuf Umar - Tekkers Partner.

Best Coach Award was given to Ahmed Nishan of Gaafaru FT Given by Hassan Sameeh from Arena Hotels. Best Goalkeeper was awarded to Fayyaz Fayaaz (J#02, Gaafaru FT) Given by Ibrahim Sanah (Santo)- PPM/PNC candidate for Thimarafushi Dhaaira.

Best Playmaker award was given to  Abdulla Visham of Fasgandu SC making 7 assists in the whole of the tournament given by Ali Ibrahim (Kappi) - PPM/PNC candidate for Henveiru Hulhangu Dhaairah. His teammate Tholaal Naseer won the Golden boot with 10 goals to his name. given by Controller of Immigration Mohamed Shahmaan Waheed.

Top 5 Players Award was given out by Given by Mohamed Mirshaan Hassan, Director Brand and Marketing, Dhiraagu. The top 5 players of the tournament are Tholaal Naseer (Fasgandu SC), Ali Shiyah (JJ Sports Club), Mohamed Yafaau (BG Sports Club), Ibrahim Rimah (Gaafaru FT), Saamin Mohamed Naseer (Gaafaru FT).

Best Player of the Tournament Given by Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal was won by number 10 of Gaafaru Futsal Team Ali Maais (Mattu).

Runner-Up Team of the tournament was BG Sports Club and the runners up trophy and cheque was Given by Controller of Immigration Mohamed Shahmaan Waheed. Champion Team trophy and prize cheque was Given By Minister of Tourism Honorable Ibrahim Faisal & Mohamed Mirshaan Hassan, Director Brand and Marketing Dhiraagu.

The Tekkers Greater Male Cup has not only been a celebration of futsal excellence but also a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and unity within the Greater Male Area community.
