Visit Maldives launches a joint marketing campaign with Easy Market targeting travel trade consumers in Italy. The month-long campaign aims to market the destination as a top of the mind destination, increase engagement with tourists and promote the destination as a safe haven for travellers.

The campaign consists of both B2B and B2C segments through Easy Market’s websites dedicated to consumers and business respectively. For the duration of this campaign these websites will feature a dedicated landing page. In addition to this, Easy Market will be carrying out email and social media marketing activities.

Through these activities, Visit Maldives will promote each of the hospitality products of the Maldives including, resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards and hotels. Other key highlights include, the safety provided by the unique geography of scattered islands and the one-island-one-resort concept promising tourists a safe haven in the Indian Ocean. The activities will also provide latest information, including the safety measures in place in the tourism establishments.

The campaign ‘I’m Vaccinated’ which started in early February led to over 93% of the tourism sector workers being fully vaccinated. The main aim of the vaccination campaign is to ease traveller’s minds and to become the first tourist destination with a fully vaccinated workforce.

Easy Market is one of the leading online travel agencies in Italy. With over 20 years of experience, and a wide network, the agency has partnered with Visit Maldives in order to maintain the brand presence in the Italian market.

Prior to the covid-19 pandemic, Italy ranked as one of the biggest source markets to the Maldives. In July 2021, Visit Maldives launched an E-Learning Programme targeting the Italian travel trade in order to maintain destination presence in the market and educate travel agents and tour operators alike. With ease of travel restrictions and resumption of connectivity, there is hope that the arrival figure from Italy will once again increase within the next few months.
