Six Photographers Selected for the Second Edition of the Photography Ambassador Program

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has officially launched its the second edition of the Photography Ambassador program, providing six local photographers with the opportunity to promote the Maldives tourism industry.


Speaking at the ceremony held at MMPRC yesterday, the Acting Managing Director Haris Mohamed stated that this is a golden opportunity for the Maldivian photographers. 


Furthermore, he also noted that the first edition of the program was a success as it provided the chance for the participants to work and gain further experience in the field.  Two photography collections were displayed in the National Art Gallery as well.


The Visit Maldives Photography Ambassador Program 2017/2018 is an initiative whereby the selected ambassadors will be travelling to resorts, liveaboards, and guesthouses that are members of MMPRC to execute theme-based photography projects.


The photographs taken by these ambassadors will be used on the official MMPRC social media channels, the official website of Visit Maldives, as well as International travel and trade fairs.


The MMPRC Photography Ambassador Program is a creative design, that can be used to stimulate and empower the local photography industry. It is created in order to offer a whole new platform for the established as well the upcoming local photographers to be recognised internationally and venture into the new international based domains. "Maldives… the sunny side of life" these photographers will be working closely with MMPRC in order to promote the destination.


The belief of MMPRC is that this program will enable to create more job opportunities for the local photographers within the Maldives Tourism Industry.
