KFC to Launch New Outlet in the Maldives

Global fast-food franchise Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has announced plans to unveil their first outlet in the Maldives on Monday.


According to KFC Maldives Facebook page, the grand opening is set for 11:00hrs on Monday morning. The first 100 customers will receive a KFC endorsed T-shirt for free. The new outlet is located next to another known food franchise; Pizza Hut at Male' Square, Ameenee Magu.


Initially, the international fast-food franchise was set to open at Rasfannu pavilion, at the west end of capital Male'. However, due to several setbacks, the venue was shifted to Male' Square.


KFC, well-known for their wide range of fried chicken meals, is a fast-food restaurant chain established in many corners of the world and was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders, an American businessman. 


More than 120 countries have outlets of the popular fast-food restaurant, and there are over 20,000 outlets around the world currently. It is the second most popular fast-food chain after McDonald's.
