Maldives Becomes a Member of Australia’s Travel Industry’s Top Global Media Network, TravMedia

The membership with TravMedia is established as part of the effort to make the Maldives the go to destination in the Australian market. It targets to increase engagements with Australian tourists and market the Maldives as a safe haven for traveler's post lifting of travel restrictions in the country.

TravMedia is trusted by travel PR professionals and media to network and share press releases, stories and ideas. The main objective of this membership is to reach as many media contacts and access as many journalists as possible to help disseminate genuine and latest information relating to the Maldives to the travel trade professionals in Australia.  

The membership will assist Visit Maldives distribute destination related information and press releases to 2,200 Australian travel media and industry professionals through email and website feed. It will allow Visit Maldives priority access and significant discounts to TravMedia's International Media Marketplace (IMM) and networking events for journalists and PR professionals in the U.S., U.K., Asia, Australia, Germany, France, and Brazil. TravMedia operates in 9 countries with 12 offices and connects over 45,000 travel professionals including 25,000 editors and journalists.  

Through this membership, Visit Maldives will inform the travel trade partners of the latest industry developments, market products (resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboard) and experiences unique to the Maldives.  

Visit Maldives’ membership with TravMedia is based on its strategy to increase awareness of the destination by ensuring high visibility of Maldives in the Australian market. It also aims to debunk the myth that Maldives is only a luxury honeymoon destination.  

Several activities are planned for this market in order to increase bookings and arrival numbers to the Maldives. This includes a Virtual Cooking class and a collaboration with a Holiday TV show.
