With the airline operating six times a week to the Maldives on the new B737-Max 8 aircraft from Muscat, it allows passengers travelling daily from London Heathrow and Manchester on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to take advantage of the quick and easy onward connection.

Velana International Airport is just three and half hours from Oman, making it a unique opportunity for passengers to explore the metropolitan capital of Muscat before escaping to the picture perfect shores of the Maldives to bask in some well needed sunshine.

Since reintroducing connections to Maldives in October, Oman Air has seen an increase in the number of tourists from the UK, travelling via the hub in Muscat on to the destination.

The connection to Maldives in Oman Airs winter timetable is followed up by high demand after a very successful first three months. Kel Patel, Oman Air, county manager for the UK, said:

"It is great news that Oman Air will be extending its Maldives flight to April. The Maldives is a key destination for Oman Air and we are delighted to be offering our travelers, particularly UK holidaymakers, the opportunity to stop over in Muscat before venturing further afield to the Maldives."

The airline will continue to operate its flights from Muscat and Malé on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. And flights from Maldives to Muscat will operate on Tuesday until March2019, and on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday till April.
