Ahmed Shahid has been appointed as Director, Technical
Services by Villa Air Flyme.
A veteran with 30 years of working experience in aviation, he
worked in Leadership, Management, Aircraft Engineering & Continuing
Airworthiness portfolios, in addition to Engineering P & L responsibility
prior to the current position.
In 1988, shahid started his aviation career as a mechanic at
Air Maldives and after completion of his Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License
Training at Scotland UK from 1991 to 1994, he was promoted to LAE in August of
the same year.
His working experience include, managing and leading the
Aircraft Maintenance Department at Island Aviation Services and Trans Maldivian
Airways, where the largest seaplane operator is located at. Shahid worked with
Jet-Ops Dubai for 3 years before joining Flyme. He played an important role to
build a new GCAA CAR 145 Maintenance hangar and getting the approval for the GCAA
CAR 145.
Shahid holds the position of a Permanent Member of Aircraft
Accident & Investigation Committee of Maldives. He supports sustaining and
encouraging safe work environments and displaying the ability to streamline
operations and healthy business growth.
Flyme operates scheduled flights within the Maldives with a
fleet of 2 ATR-72 500s and one Cessna caravan B208 Amphibious
aircraft-inspired and specialized in Whale Shark spotting & Photo flights
within the South Ari atoll of Maldives.
