Addu Fisheries Complex to Officially Start Operating Next Month

Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd (MIFCO) has announced that the company is looking to recruit employees for the Fisheries Complex in Addu City which will officially start it's operations by July this year.


According to MIFCO, the company will hold recruitment open days at Hulhumeedho of Addu City on June 20th and at Fuvahmulah on the June 21st and 22nd with the aim giving out information regarding the complex and to reach out to potential candidates. 


The Government of the Maldives has been taking crucial and strategic steps to ensure local fishermen receive the best prices for the fish, especially during the fishing seasons. To achieve the objectives, the government launched the Addu Fisheries Complex Project in December 2014 to expanded the capacity of MIFCO.


Costing USD 7 million, the fisheries complex is set to meet high storage demands and aims to bring an improvement in the economy of Addu City and Fuvahmulah.
