The Chefs Guild of Maldives (CGM) announces that 28 out of its 30 registered members have arrived in Singapore to participate in the esteemed Worldchefs Congress & Expo 2024. Currently taking place from October 20 to October 25, 2024, this event presents an unparalleled opportunity for chefs to engage with the global culinary community, exchange innovative ideas, and highlight the richness of Maldivian cuisine on an international platform.

This year's Congress is not just a celebration of culinary excellence; it is also an opportunity for chefs to learn and grow alongside their peers from around the world. Recognizing her efforts in the Maldives culinary sector, Mariyam Noordeen, President of CGM, was honored with the Culinary Merit Award by WorldChefs. She expressed her gratitude, stating, "Thank you for this incredible honor. I am deeply grateful to receive this award from the President of Worldchefs. I sincerely appreciate the recognition of my efforts to bring positive change for today’s culinarians.”

The first two days of the Congress will include various culinary demonstrations, seminars, co-learning sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums, focusing on themes such as AI and digital developments in the culinary industry, food and menu creation, culinary association planning, personal branding for chefs, mental wellness, and emerging trends like vegan cooking.

The WorldChefs General Assembly is set to take place on October 22, 2024, where member associations will come together to vote on important decisions, presided over by Chef Thomas Gugler, President of WorldChefs. Additionally, the Global Chefs Challenge will occur as a side event of the FHA HoReCa, one of Singapore’s leading trade shows in the hospitality sector.

With a focus on collaboration and inspiration, the Chefs Guild of Maldives is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for its members and promoting the unique flavors and techniques that define Maldivian cuisine. This event marks a significant milestone in its journey toward elevating the culinary arts in the Maldives and beyond.
