The Maldives Association of Travel
Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) is getting ready to promote the island
nations tourism at two hospitality related fairs to be held in the Philippines
and Vietnam.
MATATO stated that they are getting
ready to promote the Maldivian tourism industry at the Vietnam International
Travel Mart (VITM) and at World Master International Travel Mart (WITM) which
is held in the Philippines.
A
total of 25 countries with more than 500 exhibitors are expected to attend the
VITM event, which is scheduled to be held in Vietnams capital of Hanoi from 27
to 30 March this year marks the events fourth edition as well.
The event is hosted by an organisation known
as the Vietnam Society of Travel Agents. MATATO debuted at the event with six Maldivian
companies in 2017.
The
tourism and hospitality event in the Philippines is scheduled from 1 to 3
April. WITM is conducted under a B2B (business to business) concept where
foreign companies sit together to seek prospective investment opportunities.
MATATO went on to state their commitment
towards tourism promotion at both VITM and WITM, adding that the association
will also be exhibiting at the famous ITB fair held at Belin, Germany.
