The Cocoon Collection, in collaboration with renowned kite-flying champion Mr. Edy Angelino, announces the International Kite Festival, a vibrant and colorful event celebrating the art of kite flying. This event is set to take place from August 19 to 22, 2024 at Joy Island and a very special event in Hulhumale' Synthetic Running Track on August 23, 2024.

The Kite Festival will showcase breathtaking performances by internationally renowned kite artists, including Paola Donatelli from Italy, known for her aerial artistry; Sandra Gheno from Canada, demonstrating her mastery of flight; Daniel Wu and Xinbo Tan from China, who will enchant with their kite choreography and sky symphony; and Linares Palau Guilherme from Brazil, showcasing his acrobatic air skills. Guests can witness a mesmerizing display as large kites of various shapes and sizes fill the Maldivian sky, creating a captivating and colorful spectacle.

Guests can marvel at the precision and skill of kite flyers as they execute intricate aerial maneuvers and synchronized performances that are sure to amaze. Additionally, Joy Island will host Children’s Kite-Making Workshops, offering a fun and educational opportunity for kids to explore their creativity and learn the craft of kite-making.
