IndiGo to Expand Flight Services to Male and Phuket in November

Budget passenger carrier IndiGo has announced that the airline will commence flight operations to Male, Maldives and Phuket, Thailand starting from November.


According to the airline, IndiGo will operate daily non-stop flights between Male-Kochi and five weekly services from Mumbai and twice weekly from Bengaluru, as part of its international expansion.


"Both Male and Phuket are key markets for us and we see great potential in the growth of tourism from India." Said William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer of IndiGo.


The airline will also operate six weekly flights between Delhi and Phuket.


IndiGo is Indias largest passenger airline with a market share of 41.9% as of August 2018. The airline primarily operates in Indias domestic air travel market as a low-cost carrier with a focus on three pillars; offering low fares, being on-time and delivering a courteous and hassle-free experience. IndiGo has become synonymous with being on-time.


Since inception in August 2006, IndiGo has grown from a carrier with one plane to a fleet of 192 aircraft today. A uniform fleet for each type of operation, high operational reliability and an award-winning service makes them one of the most reliable airlines in the world. The airline currently operates flights to 59 destinations; 48 domestic and 11 international.
