Foundation laid at First Tourist center in Maldives

The foundation has been laid at the first-ever tourist visitor center ongoing establishment located at Raa. Angolhitheem in the maldives.

Tourism Minister, Ali Waheed along with the widowed wife and daughter of late Abdulla Rasheed and Heritage Minister Yumna Maumoon came together to lay the foundation at the center.

Minister Waheed informed that the government will put their outmost effort to make sure that the center would be recognized as a popular destination among the tourists. Investors in the tourism sector will make a contribution of MVR 500,000 as agreed in order to construct the center as CSR.

The tourist center will have cafés, lounges and restroom facilities as necessities. Additionally, two galleries will be established in which one will display stories of the Maldives journey to democracy along with historical pictures of the time, the other gallery will exhibit the history of Angolitheem and its atoll, revealed Mohamed Raaid Managing Director of Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITD).
