AccorHotels has
confirmed the Raffles resort in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll of Maldives will open on
1 February 2019.
Only a
55-minute domestic flight from Velana International Airport followed by a
15-minute speedboat ride away from Kaadedhdhoo Airport, Raffles Maldives
Meradhoo is located at the southern end of the country, near the equator on the
Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
First set to
open in late 2018, Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort boasts 21 island villas and
16 ocean villas with private pools, three restaurants, a scenic cocktail bar,
and array of facilities and activities to relax, rejuvenate the body, mind and
spirit.
The resort
has appointed Oliver Larcher as the resorts General Manager, ahead of its
opening. He brings with him, over two decades of experience in luxury
hospitality, having worked with well renown brands such as Starwood Hotels and
Resorts, and Hilton Hotels and Resorts.
