Etihad Airways will be suspending all flights to, from, and via Abu Dhabi Effective from 11.59pm on Wednesday, 25th March 2020 for an initial period of 14 days, at the directive of the Government of the United Arab Emirates

The decision was made in order to help limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and to protect the UAE, its nationals, residents and visitors, as well as all the passengers connecting in Abu Dhabi with onward flights. Flights by all airlines to, from and via Abu Dhabi will remain suspended until further advice from UAE regulatory authorities, although cargo and emergency evacuation flights are exempt from this suspension and will continue.

A statement by Etihad Airways read: "We understand and regret the disruption which this decision will cause to the travel plans of our guests."

"We will only fly when we know it is safe for our guests and our teams to do so. Were working closely with government and health authorities to monitor the situation as it develops and implement network changes whenever we need to."

Many Etihad flights will continue to operate until Wednesday. Customers of the airline will be notified if their flights are cancelled or changed prior to the suspension of services. However, before proceeding to the airport, all guests are advised to check the status of their flights, using Etihad Airlines Flight Tracker: https://www.etihad.com/en/manage/flight-tracker
