Emirates has announced the renewal of its partnership with Tennis Australia for five years, maintaining its position as the Official Airline of the Australian Open until 2029. This follows a decade of collaboration, marking a strong and ongoing commitment to Australia and local sporting events. Since first partnering with Tennis Australia in 2015, Emirates has worked to bring tennis fans and players closer, creating unforgettable moments at the Australian Open.

Starting in 2025, the partnership will expand beyond the Australian Open to focus on making a positive impact within local communities. Emirates, in collaboration with the Australian Tennis Foundation (ATF), will launch a new initiative funded by its ‘Force for Good’ program. The airline will invest $2.25 million over the next five years to support disadvantaged children and young people through tennis, offering them opportunities they might otherwise miss. The program, which will launch in five key Australian cities, aims to promote physical and mental well-being using tennis as a tool. It will deliver free tennis programs in a structured, supportive environment, helping participants build sporting skills and essential life skills such as resilience, teamwork, and social connection.

Emirates’ Divisional Vice President for Australasia, Barry Brown, highlighted the airline’s long-standing commitment to Australia, which includes almost three decades of service since its inaugural flight to Melbourne. He expressed excitement about the renewed partnership and the airline’s role in connecting players and fans both globally and within Australia. Craig Tiley, CEO of Tennis Australia, emphasized the importance of Emirates in connecting players, events, and people worldwide. Vicki Reid, Executive Director of the ATF, also spoke about the positive social impact the partnership will have, uplifting thousands of disadvantaged youth through tennis.

Emirates’ sponsorship portfolio includes all four Grand Slams—the Australian Open, US Open, Roland Garros (French Open), and Wimbledon—as well as 60 other ATP tournaments worldwide. The airline’s global reach extends to social impact initiatives in the UK and US, where it collaborates with Wimbledon and the United States Tennis Association to support local communities.

For the Australian Open 2025, Emirates will continue to offer unique fan experiences. The airline’s hospitality suite will feature five European destinations, including London, Dublin, Rome, Athens, and Paris, embodying neoclassical European architectural details and offering a menu inspired by top European destinations. Emirates will also sponsor the AO Ballpark presented by Emirates, which opens on Kids Tennis Day and includes interactive activities for children. On January 14, Emirates will host Emirates Day, where spectators can meet the airline’s iconic cabin crew and celebrate the partnership with special events.

Emirates’ multi-award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, will allow tennis fans to watch Australian Open 2025 matches live on Sport 24. Special branding and themed menus will also be featured on flights to and from Australia during the event. Skywards Platinum and Gold members will have exclusive access to hospitality tickets to attend the Australian Open, available starting at 30,000 Miles.

Emirates continues to connect Australia with the world, operating three daily return services between Melbourne and Dubai, as well as flights to Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. The airline’s codeshare partnership with Qantas allows passengers access to over 120 destinations, with both airlines having carried more than 15 million passengers in the last decade.

Emirates has a long history of supporting cultural and sporting events in Australia. In addition to its tennis sponsorships, the airline has supported a variety of cultural initiatives, including its 21-year partnership with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and sponsorship of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. One notable project was the transportation of a significant Aboriginal artifact to Tasmania, reconnecting the local community with their cultural history.
