MACL Opens Bid to Manage New Seaplane Terminal Lounge

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) opens bid to manage a lounge at Velana International Airport (VIA)'s new seaplane terminal. 

Applicants must be registered Maldivian resorts, seaplane operators, and tour operators. The winning party, according to MACL, is free to run the lounge as they see fit. 

Bids must be submitted by September 27 and those that are interested must register by September 12. And there is a USD 10,000 or MVR 154,200 bid security deposit that must be submitted with the bid. 

It was announced by MACL that the development of VIA's seaplane terminal cost USD 55m (MVR 848m) and the terminal will be able to accommodate four operators. 

Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG), the Chinese company contracted to develop VIA’s Seaplane Terminal informed the project’s total floor area of 28,000 square meters and its water facilities have been completed and handed over to MACL in last August 4.
