Phase 1 of VIA's VIP Terminal Started Operations

On Friday January 7, 2022 Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL), announced the operation of the Maamahi Executive Lounge in the newly developed phase 1 of the VIP Terminal Building at Velana International Airport (VIA).

On arrival and departure from Maldives, after or before long hours of flying the visitors can now relax comfortably while the formalities are being completed. This VIP terminal have been created for those who yearn for the perfect luxury service. It is designed to provide services to celebrities and CIP’s.  The Maamahi Executive Lounge, with a seating capacity of 75 is a well-designed lounge blended with modern amenities to create a relaxing and soothing environment to offer you the perfect place for your comfort. 

Furthermore, on a past event, MACL had stated that in the new Maamai Lounge, VIP and CIP complexes will be separate. Also, those looking for significantly further privacy will have the choice of discrete rooms too. 

The new Terminal Building is located adjacent to the one currently being used. 

As indicated by MACL, in phase 1 of the new 2,300 square feet terminal building, a four-story building has been developed. 

The terminal building was constructed by Beijing Urban Construction Group(BUCG), which is a company that has worked on many other development projects of VIA.

On Friday morning, President of UNGA and MInister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid became the first person to get services from the new lounge.
