Emilio Fortini appointed General Manager of Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa

Marriott is delighted to introduce Emilio Fortini as General Manager of Sherton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, North Malé Atoll, Maldives. His recent appointment coincides with the completion of a $20 million renovation to the newly transformed resort, now exhibiting beautiful Maldivian architecture with a contemporary twist to reflect the five-star experience guaranteed at the property.

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is situated on the private island of Furanafushi in the Republic of Maldives one kilometre and a 15-minute speedboat ride away from Velana International Airport. The five-star resort offers 176 guest rooms designed to blend into the surrounding turquoise waters, pristine beaches and lush greenery. Also boasting seven unique restaurants and bars, the Shine Spa for Sheraton located on its very own island and three outdoor tropical fresh water pools, the resort caters for all guests and is the perfect destination for honeymooners, families with young children or teens and solo travellers alike.

Fortini is a seasoned hotelier with over thirty-five years of hospitality experience in Asia Pacific, including leading the refurbishment and subsequent re-brand of properties in previous roles. He pursued leadership roles as General Manager and subsequently as Senior Vice President Operations at Rendezvous Hospitality Group, managing 13 hotels across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Following his position of Director of Operations at TFE Hotels in 2014, Emilios most recent role was General Manager of Lizard Island Resort in Australia before moving to Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa to lead on the renovation project. On a personal level, Emilio holds a passion for scuba-diving, reading, wellness and daily exercise.
