Three resorts and four teams joined the competition.  The fourth team was from Kuredu Island Resort.

Lhaviyani Atoll Housekeepers Challenge was to complete a themed bed decoration within 30 minutes.

The competition was judged by a panel of four associate lecturers from Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies of Maldives.

Talking with the media Assistant Executive House Keeper of Kuredu Mr. Imran Mohamed said that the main objective of the challenge is to create a platform to showcase the talent of housekeepers and building a good relationship between neighbouring and sister resorts.

"It is very important to encourage and motivate the housekeepers to enrich their talent and improve productivity because they play an important role in giving service to the guests." Mr. Imran said.

The competition organised by Kuredu was held among the housekeeping staffs of resorts located in Lhaviyani Atoll.

This is the second year the bed decoration competition was held.

To celebrate international housekeepers week other recreational events are to be held this week among the resorts in Lhaviyani Atoll.
