MATATO initiates survey in light of Covid-19 outbreak

Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has established dialog with various Government bodies to stimulus package for travel agents and tour operators. MATATO President Abdulla Suood stated that, "The government authorities have already requested for more data from our end. We have already begun a survey and the form is available online, hence would appreciate feedback from the industry at earliest".

"As you know, CoVid19 already hit by Maldives, our Economy and Business affected heavily. Travel and Tourism around the world are already in bad situation. During this pandemic situation, take everyday precautions to keep space between yourself and others, routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces (for example: tables, staircase railing, doorknobs, lift surface ect..) and stay safe with your families, friends, and colleagues", Suood added.

Information collected through this survey will help the organization to have an inclusive understanding of the situation and will enable better coordination and communication with relevant authorities, in the advocacy efforts.

Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO) was found in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic tour operators in the Maldives. The association has evolved over the years to be a leading non-profit organization in the country and at the forefront of Maldivian tourism industry.

All MATATO members are encouraged to take part in this survey, conducted online through MATATO website, www.matato.org
