SATRC Working Group Meeting Currently Being Held in Maafushi

South Asian Telecommunications Regulators' Council (SATRC)s working group meeting on policy, regulations and services is currently being held in Maafushi island in Male Atoll.


The meeting, which is to proceed from the 1st till the 2nd of August was inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer of the Communication Authority, Ilyas Ahmed.


According to SATRC, Sixteen delegates from eight countries of the South Asia Pacific which includes Afghanistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan as well as Sri Lanka are taking part in this year's working group meeting, along with experts from the South Asia Telecom Regulatory zone.


This years working group meeting on policy, regulations and services of the council agenda comprises of discussions of further enhancing Telecommunications services and facilities in South Asian countries.


SATRC was formed in 1997 and is responsible for discussion and coordination of all issues relating to regulations in telecommunication which are of common interest to the telecommunication regulators in South Asian Countries.
