Ooredoo Maldives offers 25% Bonus Data to all postpaid customers

Ooredoo Maldives has announced that a Bonus Data of 25 percent will be offered to all postpaid customers to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bonus granted on data allowance will benefit those in need of more internet data during this period of time. This bonus will be renewed again on 1st of April 2020, says Ooredoo Maldives.

The telecom brand introduced this initiative to ensure that all customers are granted with hassle-free internet services to stay connected with family and friends as well as to access the latest updates on matters related to COVID-19.

Considering the current situation, Ooredoo will overlook those who are unable to pay bills on time during this month for the services; mobile, fiber and wireless broadband. This initiative will especially help locally-owned small business customers heavily affected by the outbreak of COVID-19.

Several measures implemented to support Ooredoo customers during this pandemic includes:

  • Whitelisting of Covid-19 response website to ensure free accessibility to all
  • 25% additional data allowance to fixed broadband customers
  • 25% additional mobile data allowance for prepaid customers
  • 25% additional data allowances for postpaid customers
  • Free SMS to all local numbers. With SMS being the easiest and most widely used form of messaging across all demographics, this provided an inclusive solution for all.
  • Partnership with Ministry of Education to facilitate google classroom access to students, with 5GB additional data allowance.
  • Support to Emergency Response Teams, including free internet access for emergency centres, flu clinics, isolation facilities etc.
  • Covid-19 awareness through bulk SMS, customer dial tones, and multi-lingual social media communications in partnership with HPA, Maldives Red Crescent, Maldives Medical Association, MV+ and more.
  • Internet Support provided to Maldives Medical Association to facilitate online consultations for those who are in quarantine.
