Chef pâtissier, baker, entrepreneur and now author, Adam Schihab has become a well-known name in the bakery industry globally. With over 23 years of experience, he has served in a variety of countries and is not only a renowned chef, but is also partnered with multiple food & beverage companies and catering groups throughout Asia and the Middle East.
In January 2020, Schihab published The Islander Chef, a recipe book featuring a collection of his most requested recipes. The book showcases melt-in-your-mouth macarons, decedent cakes, tarts, croissants, and a variety of other pastries. Additionally, The Islander Chef sees contributions by renowned Pastry Chef and founder of Bakehouse and Bread Elements in Hong Kong, Gregoire Michaud, and Executive Chef at the School of Hospitality and Tourism in Douro-Lamego, Portugal, Alexandre Ferreira.
Born and raised in the Maldives, Schihab studied at the Institute of Hotel & Catering Services and received his Master’s Degree in International Management from the University of Liverpool. He was trained in pastry schools in Paris, France, and at HTC’s French Culinary School in Asia.
Schihab is currently based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and has worked in ten other countries, including Italy, the Maldives, Indonesia, the US, Egypt, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Qatar, the Philippines, and Oman. He has had the opportunity to work and cater at five-star hotels and resorts around the world including the Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad Hilton Dusit Thani, Ritz-Carlton, and Relais & Châteaux in France. Full of enthusiasm, Schihab works with fresh culinary produce, designing innovative recipes and promoting restaurant ratings. Apart from that, he is also an outstanding communicator, administrator and problem solver.
Using social media and his passion for entrepreneurship and food, Schihab has built a network of the world’s best culinary professionals. Schihab further expresses interest in partnering with new business professionals and chefs to take on thrilling food projects.
