India’s Best Airline, Vistara has announced to commence direct flight operations between Mumbai and Maldives.
From March 3, 2021, Mumbai-Maldives direct operations will begin with return fares starting at INR 17699 all-in, stated the airline. The round-trip all-inclusive fares for Malé-Mumbai-Malé start at MVR 3,499.

Maldives was one of the first countries to reopen its borders. During these unprecedented times, the tourism industry has remained vigilant and worked towards increasing tourist arrival numbers. In this regard, 2020 ended with the celebration of over 500,000 tourist arrivals for the year, and over 100,000 tourist arrivals since the reopening of borders.
Currently, there are over 140 resorts and over 330 guesthouses in operation, along with over 135 liveaboards and 11 hotels. There are 27 airlines connecting Maldives to the rest of the world.
On February 12, Maldives recorded 4,700 tourist arrivals, breaking the record for most tourist arrivals on a single day in 2021.
