Sri Lanka has announced the suspension of on-arrival visa
for tourists until further notice. This action was taken as a step to suppress
the spread of corona virus (COVID-19) in the country.
The first case of domestic transmission reported was a
52-year old tour guide who had been touring around with a tourist group from
Italy. Not long after, Government Information Department stated, "The
Government has decided to suspend on arrival visa facility until further notice."
Additionally, The Sri Lankan government advises to avoid
travelling unless it is extremely essential for safety measures.
The 14-day quarantine measures will now be applicable for
foreigners other than visitors returning from Iran, Italy and Korea.
