Soneva Fushi, the luxury five-star resort in the Maldives has announced that the resort is looking to hire someone to sell books to A-listers and the super-rich on a desert island.

According to Soneva, Philip Blackwell, who used to run the bookshop chain of the same name, will be recruiting someone to sell books to the wealthy at his pop-up shop at the resort. The successful candidate will be based close to the resort, where villas are "hidden among dense foliage on a private island," and cost up to nearly $26,000 per night to stay in.

"The pay is derisory but the fringe benefits unparalleled. It's a dream job for many people. If I was 25 again I would do it," said Blackwell

"We want someone on the ground who is creative and inspiring and can maybe get more people to share the pleasure of reading, which is what people enjoy doing on holiday."

The lucky candidate will also write an "an entertaining and lively blog that captures the exhausting life of a desert island bookseller," as well as entertaining children with storytelling sessions and hosting creative writing workshops.

Interested applicants must be able to sign up for a period of at least three months and have a passion for books, naturally.

Soneva Fushi is located on the island of Kunfunadhoo in Baa Atoll, one of the largest islands in the Maldives. The resort can be reached by a scenic 30 minute seaplane flight direct from Malé International Airport or a 20 minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo followed by a 12 minute speedboat ride.
