Maldives signs agreement with Limkokwing University to develop locals in the Tourism Industry

Maldives has signed an agreement with Limkokwing University for the purpose of training and developing individuals for the tourism and hospitality sector of Maldives.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed and the founder of the university Tan Sri Dato' Sri Paduka Dr Lim Kok Wing's daughter Dato Tiffanee Marie Lim (Vice President of the university) at a ceremony held in Limkokwing University London Campus.

Tourism Minister revealed that fully and semi funded scholarships will be provided under the agreement. Limkokwing Universitys Vice President Dato Tiffanee Marie Lim conveyed that in addition to facilitating opportunities for locals in the tourism industry, they will assist in other areas of the Maldives as well.

Ministry of Tourism will be leasing islands with the goal of expanding tourist resorts at the same time providing opportunities for locals to work in the industry. Minister added that if required, trainings will be conducted for locals depending on the circumstances to provide more opportunities.
