Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and Angsana Ihuru Maldives have concluded their coral planting activities with great support from their guests.

The program is a regular organized event hosted by both the properties in order to help create awareness on the importance of the coral reefs in the Maldivian ecosystem.

A total of 233 corals were planted into frames using the spider frame technique, which maintenance divers then placed into coral nurseries. These frames stabilize the area and provide space to grow new corals.

This technique is especially useful for areas that have been damaged by blast fishing, anchor and storm damage, where structural complexity has been lost.

In addition to this, Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay recently organized a beach clean-up at a nearby fishing village, where the team of associates collected a massive 500kg of trash.
