Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has announced its endorsement of the highly anticipated Aviation Forum 2024 to be held on April 27, 2024.

The Aviation Forum serves as a pivotal platform for key industry stakeholders to convene, exchange perspectives, and cultivate innovative ideas. With a focus on fostering crucial dialogues about diverse topics within the aviation sector, this event aims to raise awareness on significant areas directly with industry participants and key stakeholders.

Aviation stands as a cornerstone industry for the Maldives, given its remote location and dispersed population, making air travel indispensable for connecting people and businesses alike. Notably, aviation plays a substantial role in driving economic growth, contributing approximately 58.8% to the national GDP through direct, indirect, and induced effects. The Maldives is experiencing unprecedented growth in aviation, with estimations indicating a potential 86% increase in aviation's contribution to GDP by 2035 if capacity remains unrestrained.

The Aviation Forum promises to play a pivotal role in shaping the industry's future by hosting key dialogues featuring foremost experts within the aviation sector. The committee focuses on crucial aspects such as supervisory ground handling and airline ticketing, collaborating closely with all relevant stakeholders and government authorities to empower local agencies and elevate industry standards.
