To spearhead learning and development initiatives and create training programmes that align with the Group’s vision and value, Villa Group has appointed Mr. Hassan Shamaam as the Group Director of Learning and Development.
As the Group Director of Learning and Development, Shamaam will be responsible for the execution of fully integrated learning and development initiatives by developing and applying high-impact training programs that will help develop and retain team members. In addition, he will also be leading the integration of the Learning Management System (LMS) within all the functions of Villa and play an integral role in the transformation process concerning its Blue Ocean Project and beyond.
Additionally, Shamaam will be reviewing and implementing new learning and development standards, actively driving the quality of the group’s learning and aligning across all of its resorts. Further, will also partner with various stakeholders from business units, think pragmatically concerning business needs, and create L&D solutions with a dynamic, forward-thinking approach.
With over ten years of experience in human resources and management, Shamaam thrives on delivering carefully planned guidance, training, and development. In addition to the extensive department and team leadership expertise, he has expanded his knowledge by working at notable international chains operating in the Maldives. Shamaam joins from his most recent role as Director of Human Resources at The Westin Maldives. Further, during his tenure at JW Marriott Maldives, he achieved ‘Talent Champion of Marriott International, Maldives region.’ Shamaam’s recent addition to the Villa family aligns with its mission to further develop talented locals who positively impact the group and Maldivian society.
