On Monday,
the 14th of January 2019, Island Aviation Services (IAS) who
operates the National airline of Maldives and the Thimarafushi Airport announced that they were introducing night
flights to Thimarafushi Domestic Airport.
IAS will be
holding an inauguration ceremony in the airport located in Thaa Atoll for the additional

Despite the
completion of the lights on the runway, IAS has yet to land a flight at the
airport at night.
