Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa Introduces New Executive Chef Oliver Ramos

Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa, Maldives has announced the appointment of Olivier Ramos as the new Executive Chef at the resort.

Originally from France, Olivier Ramos obtained his culinary diploma back in 1990 and moved to Paris to gain experience with the renowned Chef François Clerc. He then travelled to Bermuda, Spain, and the USA, and held positions at prestigious hotels such as the Ritz Carlton in Boston.



Working abroad, he learnt to adapt his cooking to different palates, experimenting and sharing with his team. Olivier Ramos loves working with quality produce, where the fantastic flavours are able to shine through, and using only a few ingredients he able to create mouthwatering dishes.

Countless recipes later, Olivier Ramos is now sharing his passion and creations as Executive Chef with the team at Hideaway. Since joining the resort, he has wowed and impressed the guests with his culinary delights such as the ceviche of kingfish, with a light vinaigrette and some freshly grated lime. Another mouth-watering treat is tartare with wagyu beef which is a classic recipe with an addition of soya to bring out the sweetness and tenderness of the product.



Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa is located on the crescent-shaped Dhonakulhi Island in the north of the Maldives belonging to the Haa Alifu Atoll; 290 km from the capital Malé. Following a $50million investment in the redevelopment of the whole-island and an extensive renovation of the property, previously known as Island Hideaway, the five-star resort offers guests the luxury of space and privacy across 297,000 square metres. 

The 103 luxury villas fall into eight categories ranging from beachfront to over-water. Each villa has been carefully positioned to offer peace, comfort and privacy to guests.
