Dusit Thani Maldives has revealed that the resort has begun trips to Hanifaru Bay which has recently opened for visitors to have the chance to see manta rays gathering to feed on plankton.

Between May and October each year, the South West monsoon causes an extensive collection of plankton to get caught in the funnel-like reef and this attracts hundreds of manta rays and whale sharks to come and feed on the coral reef. This is the largest known feeding station of its kind to exist in the world.

Dusit Thani Maldives Baa Atoll location in The Maldives, only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, gives the resorts guests prime access to experience this incredible sight just a 25-minute speedboat ride away.

Dusit Thani Maldives offers 94 villas and residences, along with three restaurants, two bars, one of The Maldives largest infinity pools, outdoor cinema, extensive Kids Club and the award-winning Devarana Spa with elevated treatment villas among the coconut palms. The resort is surrounded by white sandy beaches and a rich 360-degree house reef, in which different types of rays can also be spotted.

The resort is located on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll, The Maldives first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, just 35 minutes by seaplane from the capital city, Malé.
